WE HAVE A NEW NAME

The Mental Health Technology program is now called Human Services and Behavioral Health.

Since 1967, we've trained over 1600 qualified human service professionals now working in the fields of mental health, chemical dependency treatment, gerontology, corrections, and developmental disabilities.

Graduates of our program work directly with a diverse group of clients in a wide variety of human service and addiction treatment agencies. The course of study can be completed on a full-time basis (5 semesters) or part-time with day and evening options available. The practicum (internship) portion of the curriculum provides 450 hours of supervised clinical experience in human service agencies and chemical dependency treatment centers.

Graduates are eligible for registration by the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board as Social Work Assistants (SWA). Students in the MHT/CD degree program meet the academic and experience requirements for licensure as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) with the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.  The program is approved by the Council for Standards in Human Service Education.

After taking MHT 1101, an informational interview and a G.P.A. of 2.0 are required for admission to the program.
