Heading to Battle Creek, the Tartans had never beaten the Bruins in Michigan during Coach Dintaman's tenure. Though the stakes weren't as high as a regional, the Pride finally ended their drought with two quality wins over the MCCAA champions.

Pitchers split the games in the final tune-up before the regional and only allowed four runs on the day. The offense found ways to grind out a few runs and were paced all day by third basemen Matt Sullivan, who had five hits.
