Sinclair Urges Support for MVCTC

DAYTON, OH– The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) and Sinclair College are continuously working together to create career pathways and better educational experiences for students throughout the Dayton Region. Because the mission of MVCTC is so critical to the continued success of the Dayton Region, Sinclair College President Steve Johnson strongly supports the MVCTC.

"The Miami Valley Career Technology Center is an outstanding educational resource for students of all ages throughout the Dayton Region," Sinclair College President Steve Johnson said. "In fields as varied as business to allied health programs to geospatial technology, Sinclair and MVCTC have worked together to achieve great things for our students. We have also worked to create clear pathways from MVCTC to Sinclair and, eventually, Wright State University for business students in order to give them the tools they need to succeed. We strongly support the Miami Valley Career Technology Center."

Some Academic Successes of the Sinclair/MVCTC partnership:

  • MVCTC has had one of the highest participation rates in the region in the Tech Prep career educational program, which allowed area students to earn 2,498 college credits in 2011 alone.
  • MVCTC to Sinclair to Wright State University program for Business students that offers significant cost savings as well as dual enrollment and internship opportunities.
  • New collaborative degree and certificate programs in emerging fields such as: Cyber Investigation Technology, Crime Mapping, and Geospatial Technology Programming,
  • Joint collaborations in health programs such as dental hygiene, exercise science, nursing and health info rmation management.
