Teaching Excellence Awards Announced

On Friday, November 30, interim Senior Vice President and Provost Dave Collins announced this year's recipients of the college's John and Suanne Roueche Teaching Excellence Awards (formerly NISOD Teaching Excellence Award), our highest recognition for outstanding teaching:

Cheryl Reindl-Johnson, Associate Professor, Business Information Systems
Ribhi Daoud, Professor, Economics
Bob Gilbert, Associate Professor, Engineering Technology Design
David Hare, Associate Professor, Mathematics
Richard Jurus, Professor, Art
Karen Motley, Chairperson/Associate Professor, Health Information Management

Congratulations to these outstanding faculty. They were selected for this recognition by a group of their peers, colleagues who are past recipients of the NISOD Teaching Excellence Award.

This year's John and Suanne Roueche Teaching Excellence Award recipients will receive their awards at the Innovations 2013 Conference, March 10-13, 2013, in Dallas, Texas. In addition, they will be recognized, along with other faculty award winners, at a reception in spring semester in Charity E. Earley Auditorium.

John E. and Suanne D. Roueche, leaders in the community college field and early proponents of the idea that teachers have major responsibility for how well students perform in the classroom, have been partners and friends of the League for Innovation in the Community College for over thirty-five years. What began as a working relationship with the founders of the League has evolved into a full-fledged partnership through collaborative efforts on projects of mutual interest and national concern.
