Dayton, Ohio – Sinclair Community College’s Criminal Justice Training Academy will be offering a Peace Officer Refresher Academy March 5-8 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. each day at its facility in downtown Dayton.

“The Peace Officer Refresher Academy is designed for someone who has graduated from a police academy and has gone more than one year, but less than two years since graduation without holding a commissioned position,” said Pete Willis, Sinclair Criminal Justice Training Academy Coordinator. “It’s also for the officer who has had a break in service of more than one year, but less than four years.”

When either of these scenarios applies to a police academy graduate or officer, they may be required by OPOTA - Ohio Police Officer Training Academy - to have this 16-hour refresher training. Sinclair is pleased to offer this three-day course which meets the requirements of the Ohio Administrative Code (Section 109: 2-1-12(D)).

All participants must bring their OPOTA Letter of Determination to the first class. Registrants without this letter will not be permitted to participate in the class. Cost of this Academy is just $250 and includes all instructional materials and parking. Class size is limited to 15 people.
