On Monday, April 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 4 p.m., the 44th Annual Sinclair Writers' Workshop will take place in the Tartan Dining Rooms 7006ABC in Building 7 on Dayton Campus.
All speakers and workshops are FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
At 11 a.m. novelist Crystal Wilkinson will kick-off the day. She is the author of The Birds of Opulence and two collections of short stories. She is also a recipient of the 2017 Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence, the Judy Gaines Prize and the Weatherford Award for Appalachian Literature. She has been a finalist for the Hurston Wright Award and the Orange Prize.
At 12 p.m. participants will have conversation with presenter April Wilson a contemporary romance novelist and author of six contemporary romance novels that are ranked in the top 1/4 of a percent of e-books sold on Amazon. She teaches a workshop series locally called "The Business of Being an Author." They will also connect with memoirist Linda A. Marshall. She authored A Long Awakening to Grace and is a contributing author to Sophia’s Table: Women’s Wisdom in Five Voices. Several of her essays have been published in Story Circle Network anthologies.
Breakout sessions will take place from 1:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. followed by a brief participant open mic.
