Sinclair College Hosts Education and Business Leaders to Strengthen the Workforce Pipeline and Prepare Students for In-Demand Careers

Sinclair Community College welcomed more than 160 leaders from business, K-12, and higher education on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, for the SuccessBound 2023 Conference. Attendees participated in multiple breakout sessions focused on work-based learning, pre-apprenticeships, business advisory committees, career-technical programming for students with disabilities, and industry recognized credentials.

Sinclair hosted the SuccessBound 2023 Conference as a member of the Ohio Tech Prep West Region. This year’s theme was “Bringing Together Ohio’s Strong Business and Education Partners to Engage and Inspire Students.” 

“Sinclair Community College is proud to host this inspiring conference where representatives from education and business come together to formulate strategies that elevate our efforts to prepare students for meaningful and rewarding career opportunities,” said Pamela Hunt, Ohio College Tech Prep Chief Administrator - West Region. 

The SuccessBound 2023 Conference welcomed nationally recognized storyteller and author Shane Meeker as keynote speaker. Meeker’s presentations include surprising insights, engaging personal stories, fun movie references, hands-on exercises and "Hollywood-esque" tools that everyone will remember and use long after the event ends. 

For more than 30 years, Ohio College Tech Prep has been developing career pathways and programs of study for students by building and fostering relationships between representatives from secondary and post-secondary education, business, industry, and community organizations. Six Tech Prep Regional Centers serve as resource hubs to support 611 school districts, 91 career technical planning districts, 23 community colleges, and 14 universities.  Ohio College Tech Prep is jointly administered by the Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Higher Education.
