The Sinclair Community College Board of Trustees is beginning the 2023-2024 fiscal year with new leadership. Business and community leader Bruce Feldman has been named the new Board of Trustees Chair. Feldman assumed the role on July 1, 2023.
Feldman has served on the Sinclair Board of Trustees since 2013. During that time, he has held leadership positions as chair of the Finance and Investment and Strategic Linkages Committees. Under Feldman’s leadership of the Finance and Investment Committee, Sinclair has achieved spotless financial audits, zero debt, and the highest financial rating (5.0) from the State of Ohio.
“It is a great honor to continue my commitment to this institution and build upon the incredible successes Sinclair Community College has achieved by focusing on financial stability and our strategic priorities of growth, equity, and alignment,” said Chair Feldman. “I look forward to working with my colleagues in support of Sinclair’s historic mission to find the need and endeavor to meet it for our students and for the entire Dayton region.”
Feldman is a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion and has provided support and leadership for numerous Sinclair initiatives including efforts to lead the community response to the 2019 Memorial Day tornadoes and the mobilizing of resources in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
“Bruce’s reputation as a respected civic leader and his deep business background has given him an extraordinary depth of financial knowledge which he used in his role as a trustee to advance the governance of Sinclair. His commitment to the underserved has resulted in a focus on student success and a driving force in creating an anti-racism environment at Sinclair,” said Dr. Steven Johnson, President – Sinclair Community College.
Feldman has served as President of Economy Linen and Towel Service, Inc. since 1988. He succeeds Amy Barker who was named Board Chair in 2021 and served as a Trustee since 2012. Barker’s term expired at the end of June.
