Sinclair Community College and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced July 13 that both the volleyball and baseball teams earned NJCAA All-Academic honors for 2016-17.
The NJCAA recognized a record-number 740 teams for their success in the classroom. The organization annually honors teams with an overall grade-point average of at least a 3.0 for their sport and gender with the NJCAA All-Academic Team Award.
In addition to the two All-Academic team honors this season, Sinclair also had 10 student-athletes earning NJCAA All-Academic individuals honors.
This is the sixth consecutive year for the volleyball team earning All-Academic team honors, and back to back All-Academic honors for the baseball team.
This year Sinclair had a total of 78 student-athletes competing on five different teams, 21 earned Dean’s List in the fall followed by 23 in the spring. The Pride also had 23 student-athletes earning academic all-conference honors in the fall and 25 in the spring from the OCCAC (3.3 GPA) for the year.
