Culinary Competition Team Co-Captain, Markus Montreul was awarded $500 for his original entrée that was prepared and served to the owners of Club 55 in Troy, for a contest they created for Sinclair Community College, Cincinnati State, and Columbus State culinary arts students. Markus’ entrée will be featured on the restaurant’s menu as their signature dish and it will include his name on the menu item. The owners came to Sinclair Community College on November 1st, after judging entries from the other schools, and were so impressed with Markus’ entry that they let him know on the spot that his plate won the competition! The entrée was consisted of a broiled salmon on a bed of cooked spinach with mashed sweet potatoes piped around it, garnished by pecan pieces drizzled with a brown sugar sauce.
