National WebCheck Fingerprinting

Does your class or career field require a BCI and/or FBI fingerprint background check?

*** NOTE: DOES NOT APPLY TO ACADEMY APPLICANTS ***

The Sinclair Police Department and the Sinclair Criminal Justice Department have collaborated to provide fingerprinting services for Sinclair Community College students who need this service to fufill required professional standards. Students who require fingerprint checks no longer need to leave the Sinclair campus for this service.

Sinclair Community College is a provider of National WebCheck.  National WebCheck is an electronic fingerprint collection and transmittal system designed by the Ohio Attorney General's Office.  It allows background checks to be done through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (Ohio BCI&I) with results being mailed in less than one day.

National WebCheck can interface with the FBI's Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) for the background checks that require the FBI search.

The tests are not open to the public.  Only Sinclair Community College students who are required to have the background checks done will be scheduled through their respective academic departments.  Fingerprinting sessions must be scheduled in advance, and no more than 10 students will be scheduled per group session.  Unscheduled tests will not be conducted.

The costs for the background checks are:
  • $ 35.00  -  State of Ohio only
  • $ 40.00   -   FBI only
  • $ 65.00  -  State of Ohio and FBI

National WebCheck is conducted in room 9-315.  Students being fingerprinted MUST bring the following items to the test site:

  • Valid Ohio Driver License or other governement issued ID card
  • Social Security Card
  • Completed Background Request form with paid receipt attached
