Student Guidelines

Policy Number One:  We are here to help you.  If you have any questions or need assistance with any equipment, please ask.  The Lab Coordinator or the Lab Assistants will be happy to help you in any way we can. Your cooperation with the following guidelines will ensure that the
multimedia lab is a safe and comfortable place to work and study.

  1. Cell phone usage is not permitted in the Lab.  Turn them Off!!
  2. Make certain you sign in and out. Most instructors do count lab time for a percentage of your grade.  If you do not log-out, you will receive credit for a maximum of 15 minutes.
  3. For the safety and mobility of all our lab users, please store your backpacks and/or book bags under your workstation.
  4. No gum chewing in the lab or classroom.
  5. No food or drink is allowed at the workstations.
  6. Children are not permitted in the Lab or classrooms.  Also, it is strictly against Sinclair policy to leave children unattended in public areas of the campus.  Unattended children  will be escorted to the Campus Police Office in Room 7112.
  7. Please use a low conversational tone when talking to others. The workstation microphones are very sensitive.
  8. If you need library materials, tell the person in the control room what course you are taking and which lesson you wish to hear.
  9. When you finish, bring the library media to the person in the control room.
  10. All PCs have Internet access.  You are welcome to utilize this access.  However….  viewing and/or downloading of pornographic material is strictly prohibited.  Any person found accessing pornographic sites will be permanently barred from the lab.
  11. Please do not save files to the harddrive.  You may save to CDs on all the PCs and most workstations also have a zip drive for your convenience.
  12. Please notify the Lab Coordinator or the Lab Assistant of any problems.  Most often, we can solve technical difficulties while you wait.
