Analysis of Gasoline Samples

Sample Preparation:

Fill the vial with 2 mL of GC/MS grade methylene chloride and add 2 drops of gasoline sample.

Starting the ChemStation Software:

Double click the icon US21843137 Data Collection on the DESKTOP.
Load GASOLINE_F2M method under METHOD.

Sample Injection

Choose METHOD-RUN

Type in SAMPLE NAME (e.g. CHE 159_01_rp)

Choose RUN-METHOD

Wait for the dialog box showing directions:

Push PrepRun button on GC

Wait for the steady yellow PrepRun light

Inject 1 microliter of the sample to the rear inlet.

Push the START button.

"Override solvent delay?" NO

Wait until the run is done.

Analysis of GC/MS

Open US21843137 Data Analysis icon.

Choose FILE-LOAD DATA FILE

Select the file.

To see the mass spectrum, right double click on the peak.

To compare the ms with the library file (NIST98.L), right double click anywhere inside the ms.

 

To Print-Out, Choose FILE-PRINT-TIC-Signals-Spectrum.
