DAYTON, Ohio (11/18/09) – Sinclair Community College will once again hold the Advanced Hybrid and Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute from December 14-18 on the college’s downtown campus. 

Thanks to a $790,000 National Science Foundation Gran t, Sinclair will provide training on hybrid and alternative fuel vehicle technology to 40 college instructors from across the United States. The institute teaches technical skills and knowledge on the latest hybrid/alternative vehicles with the intent that these instructors will then use what they have learned to develop hybrid programs at their institutions. 

"The 2009 Institute will feature presentations by representatives from Toyota, Honda, Ford and General Motors," said Steve Ash, Chair of Automotive Department at Sinclair.
Sinclair’s Automotive Department will also receive a 2003 Honda Civic rebuilt for the college by Voss Automotive Network. In addition, the Westfield Insurance Company will present Sinclair a late model Toyota Prius for use in the workshop.
