Sinclair to Host 20th Annual Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration and Workshop

DAYTON, Ohio (11/18/09) – Sinclair Community College’s Cultural Diversity Committee, African American Studies Program, African American Culture Club and the ABLE Youth Leadership Institute will host the 20th annual Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration and Workshop focusing on business development and health promotion, Saturday, November 21, 2009.

Titled ‘Uniting Families and Communities Abroad,’ the celebration/workshop will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. in the Ponnie Kendell Student Leadership Center, lower level of Building 8, on the Sinclair campus. The event is free and open to the public. 

The celebration/workshop will feature African drumming and dancing by Unconscious Realities from Cleveland, along with music by Edde Osborne and the Omega Baptist Church Choir. Kwanzaa principles and symbols will be presented by African American Studies students of Sinclair. 

The celebration will also in clude health promotion and business vendors from the community organizations.
