DAYTON, OHIO (02/14/11) – The English Department at Sinclair Community College is sponsoring the 26th Paul Laurence Dunbar Memorial Poetry Prize. This annual poetry writing contest continues to receive hundreds of entries from Montgomery, Greene and Clark Counties.
The Paul Laurence Dunbar Memorial Poetry Prize has four categories: elementary, middle school, high school and adult. Entrants can submit up to five previously unpublished poems in any form. The contest is open to the public. Entries must be postmarked by April 12, 2011, and should be sent to:

Entrants should include the following information in the upper right corner of each page of each entry:
• Category (Elementary, Middle School, High School or Adult)
• Name
• Address
• Phone
• Email Address
No manuscripts will be returned. Award winners will be announced on May 12 in the local press and Sinclair Community College newspaper, The Clarion. The judge for the 2011 Paul Laurence Dunbar Poetry Contest is Audrey Masden Davis, retired Trotwood Public School teacher. Winners in each category will receive a $100.00 prize.
Previous winners and full-time Sinclair employees may not enter.
