In My Blood Premieres at Sinclair

Are vampires your guilty pleasure? Twlight? True Blood? Sexy vampires are in...and this week they are taking over Sinclair Community College Blair Hall Theatre! Encore Theater Company, in collaboration with Sinclair Theatre, will continue its summer season, July 14-16, with the premiere of Mark Weiser’s new vampire-themed musical IN MY BLOOD.

IN MY BLOOD is described as a “rock ‘n roll fable” about two friends who stumble across the world’s last surviving vampires. The pair is offered the chance to join their hosts and live forever in the “Sanctuary.” One man is seduced and the other barely escapes with his life, setting in motion an even greater fight for survival. Ultimately everyone must choose sides - for life, for love and for family.

The show, originally titled THE CURE, was featured on Encore’s Litehouse New Musical Reading Series in October 2010. It was previously performed in developmental workshops and productions at The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and in San Antonio at Woodlawn Theatre. ETC/Sinclair Theatre's similar collaboration from last summer featured Salzman and Cunningham's NEXT THING YOU KNOW, which opened off-Broadway last month.

The cast of IN MY BLOOD features Zachary Jordan Steele, Tommi Harsch, JJ Parkey, Zach King, Korey Harlow, Angela Dermer, Michael Frazier, Tabitha Carroll, Destre Inlow and Sean Metcalf.

The show is directed by Kimberly Borst with choreography by Rodney Veal. Music direction is by John Faas, with assistance from Kathy Frauman. Designers include Sinclair Community College Theatre Students Derek Dunavent (costumes), Shane Engel (lighting) and Will Courson (scenic).

Performances will be held at Sinclair Theatre’s Blair Hall July 14, 15 & 16 at 8PM each night. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased online at: Sinclair.edu/arts or at the door.
