Women’s Tennis Goes 1-2

Dayton, OH – Sinclair Women’s Tennis knocks off Defiance (5-4) on the road to earn 1st win of the year.

Playing with Freshman Tory Painter, Sinclair pulled out a 5-4 victory Friday night as they traveled to Defiance for the first of three matches this weekend. After dropping the first two singles matches, the Pride made a run to win the last four singles matches in order. Kosins #3 Singles (6-1, 6-4), Sizemore #4 Singles (6-4, 6-1), Thomas #5 Singles (6-2, 6-3), Roth #6 Singles (6-1, 6-1). Sealing the victory, Kosins & Sizemore blasted Defiance 8-1 in the #2 Doubles match to earn the Tartan Pride a 5-4 victory.

Saturday the Pride returned to action for two road matches with Otterbein and Wittenberg in Springfield. Playing without Tory Painter at the #1 spot, Sinclair found the competition a little overwhelming. Sinclair dropped the first match of the day to Otterbein 3-6. The Pride netters finished off the day against a very strong Wittenberg team losing 0-9.

Sinclair (1-6) will return to action this week as they travel to Wilmington College on Tuesday and then home on Wednesday to take on Earlham College.
