Last nights dramatic finish against Genesee would be matched by another outstanding game between the two programs. Pride started Austin Pressly struggled with control and allowed three earned runs in the 1st three innings. In those innings the Pride would score two runs with two out hits from Zach Stewart. In the 4th, Genesee would score on a two out error by shortstop Marrero. Pressly left the game and Jacob Campbell walked back to back hitters before getting a pop-up to end the inning. Trailing 5-2 in the bottom of the 4th Steve Buglione led off with a walk. After a stolen base by Buglione, Robinson would strike out but a dropped 3rd strike would get him on base. Robinson then caught Genesee napping and took 2nd base. With two on, Byron Johann doubled down the line tying the game at 5. In the 5th Genesee shortstop John Polonious homered to rightfield putting Genesee back on top. On the day, Polonious 3-4 and a double away from the cycle. Calhoun came in for Campbell to get the Pride out of the 5th. Stewart led of the bottom half with a triple to right-center and then scored on a double by Corey Throckmorton. Still down by one heading into the bottom of the 6th, Brandon Napier led off with a single. Napier advanced on a wild pitch and then scored on a great two strike single by Clay Ragland to tie the game. The Pride bullpen would shut down the Cougars offense the rest of the game not allowing a run. Calhoun pitched a scoreless 6th & 7th and was lifted for Matt Addis with one out in the 8th. Addis closed the door and sent the game into the bottom of the 8th. Once again Napier started things off with a leadoff double. Ragland then popped up in the infield but the ball was misplayed and dropped. Tom McCowan failed to execute a sacrifice bunt and Napier was thrown out at 3rd. A passed ball allowed Ragland and McCowan to advance and then Justin Marrero hit a deep flyball single to win the game.
