Pride Wins at Wilmington 95-72


Dayton, OH – Sinclair Men's basketball continued a 7 game road swing during the Winter break with a 95-72 win on Wednesday night against the Wilmington College JV team.

To say Sinclair started the game hot would be a major understatement as the Pride converted on the game's first 10 possessions going 10 for 10 from the field which included 3 for 3 from the 3 point line. The early 22-3 lead would be pushed out to as many as 31 during which Sinclair shot 62% from the field for the game and 46% from the 3 point arc. A well played team game, the Pride forced the Quakers into 19 turnovers as Sinclair collected 27 assist on only 12 turnovers.

Sinclair had five players in double figures as a pair of Freshman lead the way with 21 points each. JaBriel Coaston (6-5/Cincinnati – Roger Bacon H.S.) had a game high 21 points 6 rebounds and Charlie Byers (5-11/Cincinnati – Moeller H.S.) also had 21 points and game high 9 assist. Joining Coaston and Byers in double figures, Sophomores Jonathan Bibbs (6-4/Chaminade Julienne H.S.) 13 points and Trent Maddox (6-4/Gallatin Co H.S. KY) with 12 points and 8 assist along with a game high 9 rebounds. Freshman Gavin Schumann (6-1/Cincinnati – Roger Bacon H.S.) chipped in with 12 points and 3 assist to round out the double figure scorers for the Pride.

Sinclair will end the 7 game road swing next week as the pride will take on Wright State – Lake on Wednesday and Wittenberg on Thursday.

Both the Women and the Men will return home on Wednesday the 28th as Ohio University – Chillicothe comes to town for a 5:30/7:30 tip. All home games are played in Building 8 on the Downtown Dayton Campus.
