Tartan Pride Take Harriers 13-5

Jacob Robinson
Corey Johnson tossed 3 innings only allowing one unearned run.

For the second time in as many days, the Pride found themselves trailing early. Miami-Hamilton's centerfielder led off the inning by reaching on a infield error and then scored on a double from the next hitter off starter Alex Kimsey. Kimsey would allow another run and Hamilton carried a 2-0 lead into the 3rd inning. In the bottom half of the 3rd, shortstop Brandon Napier and DH Marcus Heath each collected two-out RBI singles to tie the game at two. Trading single runs in the bottom of the 4th and in the top of the 5th, the game was tied again heading into the bottom half of the 5th. With one out and runners at the corners, Chas Harper executed a perfect safety squeeze that scored the runner and he was safe at 1st. After that play, the Sinclair offense took advantage of a few defensive miscues and had another pair of RBI singles to extend the score to 8-3. Freshmen Corey Johnson threw the three previous innings and was now in line for the win. Hamilton scored a pair in the 6th to cut the lead, but Sinclair put the game away with another big inning in the 7th, Marcus Heath added another single that scored two and Kyle Vander Ark doubled in the gap for his first career hit scoring Napier. Pride Pitchers Brandon Branigan & Marcus Heath each tossed scoreless innings to end the game.

Final Score: Sinclair 13 Miami-Hamilton 5
