On Friday August 13, 2010, Richard Annas, President of RRI and Dr. Roger Abernathy, Dean of Science, Mathematics and Engineering at Sinclair Community College signed an agreement that will allow Sinclair students to participate in quality internship opportunities provided by RRI.

Riverside Research Institute (RRI) is an independent not-for-profit organization. For the past 40 years, RRI has provided state-of-the-art technology and systems engineering solutions for strategic programs in the defense, intelligence and biomedical field.

As an approved authorized provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), has offered internships for Sinclair students enrolled in the Advanced Technical Intelligence Associate Degree Program. This new agreement will expand the partnership to include a wider range of internships such as aviation, physics, engineering, remote sensing and computer science.

In this very competitive job market, Sinclair students will benefit by gaining valuable experience. In return, RRI will have the opportunity to work with, evaluate and possibly acquire the finest talent for their staffing needs.

For example, Jim Godby, a graduate of the Sinclair Advanced Technical Intelligence degree program, completed an internship at RRI and is now employed at Riverside. Andrew Shepherd, another Sinclair graduate and employee of RRI, is credited with originating the idea to build a co-op/internship partnership between Sinclair and RRI.
