Conference Center Positioned to Meet Clients’ Technology Needs for the Future

The Sinclair Conference Center is an amazing asset to the Dayton region. Since its opening, the conference center has hosted thousands of special events, conferences and public gatherings and served more than one million unique attendees. It is the only full-service conference center in the region to earn the esteemed IACC designation from the International Association of Conference Centers.

Sinclair is committed to ensuring the conference center is poised to meet the ever-changing service and technology needs of its clients. Over the past two years, the college has invested in upgrading its multimedia capabilities in all of the mid-size and larger meeting rooms. The systems in the Great Hall, Charity E. Earley, and Frederick C. Smith rooms have each been modernized to significantly improve audio and video quality, clarity, and flexibility in these three largest and most-requested rooms. Perhaps most visible of these upgrades is the installation of eight ceiling-mounted 65-inch flat panel monitors in the Great Hall. Among the other Conference Center upgrades are retractable window shades now on both sides of the Great Hall.

Eighteen meeting rooms in the conference center have been converted to user-controlled multimedia rooms. These rooms are permanently equipped with high quality projectors and screens, an Internet-capable PC with wireless keyboard, mouse and remote for presentation control, and a VHS/DVD player. Clients can simply bring their flash drive or DVD. Additional changes to some individual rooms include creating a 16-seat video conference room and installing a 48-seat laptop lab in one of the multi-tiered meeting rooms.

Clients can also reserve the facility’s new SMART Meeting Room, ideal for strategy sessions, brainstorming, or other creative small group meetings. In it is a wall-mounted 58-inch Panasonic flat panel display equipped with a SMART interactive display frame. It enables users to write and erase notes using digital ink and perform mouse functions with just the touch of a finger.

Best known for its exceptional food, superior client service and reasonable pricing, the addition of this state-of-the-art equipment has positioned the conference center to meet its clients’ technology needs for the future. And, this investment is already paying off. All 100% of the facility’s 2010 weekly/monthly clients, representing over 500 functions, have rebooked with the conference center for 2011!
