Toledo, OH – Playing it’s second game in less than 24 hours, Sinclair (18-8/7-5) lost a close road game to OCCAC rival Owens 79-69. Both teams exchanged leads throughout the game until Owens hit a 3 pointer to go up 5 within the last minute. Playing it’s 3rd game in 4 days against top competition showed as the Pride got out rebounded by 21. Leading the way for Sinclair was Kevin Vest (6-1/FR – Carroll H.S) with 24 points and 7 rebounds and Mark Anderson (6-7/SO – Dayton Dunbar H.S.) who scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Sinclair’s All-American (Mark Anderson) had one of those weeks that every scorer dreams about. On Wednesday he scored 39 points at Cincinnati State and followed it up with a 41 point performance on Friday night against Lorain. Owens seemed intent on not letting Mark find any opening as they held the Nations Third leading scorer to only 13 shot attempts. Still, he finished the three game week with 94 points (31.3 points per game Average). Sinclair will return to action this Monday at Nationally Ranked (#2) Columbus State C.C. for Sinclair’s 4 game in less than 6 days.
