Men's Basketball Opens 2012 with an 87-68 Win Over Clark State

Dayton, OH – Sinclair Men's basketball celebrated the new year with a convincing 87-68 victory over local Clark State.

Sinclair jumped on the board first and continued to apply pressure to Clark State by pushing the ball in transition and getting to the free throw line. The Pride took a 44-27 margin into half on the heels of 55% shooting from the field and 50% shooting from the 3 point arc. Clark made several runs in the second half getting as close 12 only to have Sinclair counter with timely threes and easy transition baskets.

Leading Sinclair with his second double-doubles in as many games, Jonathan Bibbs (6-4/Chaminade Julienne H.S.) 16 points and 10 rebounds. Leading scorer for the game was Freshman Point Guard Charlie Byers (5-10/Cincinnati Moeller H.S.) with 24 points on 9 for 14 shooting from the field.

Sinclair continues the home stand this Saturday as the Pride will take on West Virginia University-Parkersburg at 4pm. All home games are played in Building 8 on the Downtown Dayton Campus.
