W Basketball Sinclair 76 Cuyahoga 51

Cleveland, OH – Sinclair started OCCAC play with a 76-51 victory over Cuyahoga. It was their first game in 18 days due to weather related postponements. The layoff showed when Sinclair got off to a sluggish start with Cuyahoga grabbing a quick 5-0 lead at 16:00. The Tartan Pride managed to climb back and the teams traded several lead changes in the first half with Sinclair holding a slim 31-29 advantage at halftime. The Pride came out in the 2ndhalf and went on a 20-9 run to build a lead and never looked back. The Pride outscored the Challengers 45-22 in the 2nd half.

Leading the way for Sinclair was SO Amanda White with 24 points and 8 rebounds while FR Jessica Pierre recorded her 3rd straight double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. FR Rebekah Carter and Jessica Myers added 8 points, FR Jana Gross 7 points and 11 assists, SO Alisha Grieves 7 points and 11 rebounds, and SO Morgan Davis 7 points.

The women's team will host Edison on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 5:30.
