PTA 2335 Clinical Practicum I

Introductory experience in the clinical setting under the supervision of a clinical instructor who is a physical therapist or physical therapist/physical therapist assistant team. Application of theories and techniques for patient interventions, and interprofessional collaboration. Students will complete 300 practicum hours in 8 weeks.

  • Students will demonstrate competence in implementing selected components of interventions identified in the plan of care established by the physical therapist at a competent or entry level during clinical practice.
  • Students will demonstrate competence in performing components of data collection skills essential for carrying out the plan of care by administering tests and measures (before, during, and after interventions) at a competent or entry level during clinical practice.
  • Students will demonstrate appropriate participation in the health care environment at a competent level during clinical practice.
  • Students will demonstrate appropriate practice management at a competent level during clinical practice.
