Sinclair's original automotive tech class was in 1906. While the class went away for a while, the program now has about 450 students – approximately 235-240 FTE’s this fall.
According to Steve Ashe, chair of the department, the automotive tech program had the most GM ASEP grads in the country for the past several years. With approximately 60 grads in 2010, they have had as many as 80 grads in a year.
Sinclair students received Reynolds and Reynolds Scholarship funds in December of 2009. The company has also donated software and hardware for a dealership that Sinclair's Automotive Technology program uses for training.
