Insider Tips on Writing from Two Sinclair Novelists

Date: Wednesday, February 14, 2018
Time: 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM
Campus: Dayton
Location: Library Loggia

Sinclair novelists Crystal Echols and April Wilson, who have published more than half a dozen novels each, will discuss their writing and offer tips to aspiring writers. This event is free and open to the Sinclair community.

April Wilson is the author of six contemporary romance novels that are ranked in the top 1/4 of a percent of e-books sold on Amazon. Her books are sold in over a dozen countries around the world, and she is a four-time winner of the Amazon Kindle Unlimited All-Star bonus award for Amazon's UK store. A former Sinclair professional staff member, she left the College at the end of 2017 to write full time. In addition to loving the creative side of writing, April also has tremendous experience in the business side of writing and publishing. She mentors aspiring authors in several countries and teaches a workshop series locally called "The Business of Being an Author." April has four new novels scheduled to come out in 2018.

By day, Crystal Echols is a Professor of English and LCS Division Assistant Dean for Marketing & Student Affairs at Sinclair Community College.  But by night, her alter-ego, Crystal Wilson-Harris, is an award-winning romance novelist with seven books to her credit.  Specializing in romance novels featuring African-American characters, Crystal has been published since 1991. Her books have been well received, with Good Intentions being named the Best Multicultural Romance of the Year by Romantic Times magazine.
