Mathematical Association of America Meeting

Sinclair is proud to host the 101st meeting of the Ohio Section of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). Undergraduate and graduate students in mathematics, mathematics education, or related fields are encouraged to attend and can register for free.

The two-day event begins at 12 Noon on Friday with the Leo Schneider Student Team Competition.  Committee meetings and paper presentations take place both days, as well as addresses by the following guest speakers:

  • Marepalli "MB" Rao, professor, University of Cincinnati
  • J. Michael Pearson, executive director, MAA
  • Lauren “Lola” Thomspon, assistant professor, Oberlin College

The Mathematical Association of America is the largest professional society that focuses on mathematics accessible at the undergraduate level. The members include university, college, and high school teachers; graduate and undergraduate students; pure and applied mathematicians; computer scientists; statisticians; and many others in academia, government, business, and industry.

This event will be hosted for the first time by a community college, and Sinclair is honored to have earned such a distinction.
