Is Your Next Step an Empty Canvas? Our Art Programs Can Help

Accredited by the National Association of Schools and Art and Design (NASAD), the art program at Sinclair Community College will help you achieve your goals as you grow as an artist—no matter how you choose to express yourself. With programs in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpting/sculpture and ceramics, your artistry can be expressed and enhanced while you build a strong academic foundation.

This program might be for you if:

  • You are interested in challenging your creative and thinking abilities.
  • You enjoy creating art in the studio and learning about art history.
  • You would like to develop and learn new techniques, while creating a great portfolio.

Even if you are pursuing another area of study, the art department also offers a variety of courses that fulfill arts and humanities degree requirements. Many of these courses focus on specialized art history topics, including African Art, American Art History, History of Photography, and History of Women Artists.

If you are interested in the art programs, you might already know the most obvious career for graduates with art degrees is working as fine artists. However, there are many other employment opportunities that require the skill, knowledge and talents gained through artistic study and practice, including art teachers, historians, art curators and even art therapists.
