Dayton, OH-The Sinclair Community College Board of Trustees elected Lawrence (Larry)Porter as their new chair at today’s board meeting.

Porter was appointed to the board by the Montgomery County Commission and has served on the board for nine years most recently as the vice chair. He also serves on the Strategic Linkages committee.

He is president of LPA, Inc., which he founded in 1994. The company brokers research and development at universities and small businesses. He has extensive Department of Defense and Air Force experience in both line and staff management. 

Porter holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Tennessee State University and an MBA from the University of Dayton.
