DAYTON, Ohio (07/17/08) - The College for Lifelong Learning at Sinclair Community College will hold its sixth annual Sharing Education, Experience, Knowledge (SEEK) Conference on Wednesday, August 6.

The featured speaker for the conference will be John Gower. As director of the City of Dayton’s Department of Planning & Community Development, Gower provides strategic guidance and direction for the city. Gower will share his “Vision for the Emerging Dayton.”

“Our attendees clearly feel a zest for life that keeps them ‘seeking’ new opportunities for learning and sharing with others,” said Anne Holaday Locke, coordinator of the College for Lifelong Learning.

The conference will also have representatives from the Area Agency on Aging, Miami Valley AAA, the Veteran’s Administration, Natural Foods Plus and Cox Arboretum, as well as Sinclair instructors and well-known Dayton artist Bing Davis. In addition, health screenings will be provided by Kettering Medical Center Network’s Community Wellness program.

Sponsors for the event include the Greater Dayton & Miami Valley Seniors Guide and Mercy Siena Retirement Community.

SEEK will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the David H. Ponitz Sinclair Center, Building 12. The conference is open to the public and has a $5.00 fee, which includes all sessions, lunch and parking.
