Sinclair Celebrates Constitution Day

Dayton, OH – Sinclair Community College will host U.S. Federal District Judge Sharon Ovington in a celebration of Constitution Day on Thursday, September 17.

On Sept. 17, 1787, the U.S. Constitution was signed by thirty-nine brave men who changed the course of history. Every year in celebration of this historical event, educators, students and community leaders participate in events like Constitution readings in honor of the day.

Sinclair’s annual celebration will include a panel discussion on selected constitutions from around the world and how they compare with our own U.S. Constitution. Panelists include: Jennifer Sooy, J.D.; Kathleen Sooy, J.D.; Derek Petrey, PhD; Laurel Mayer, PhD, and; Charles Curran, former Ohio Legislator and County Commissioner.

Sinclair’s Constitution Day events will kick off at Noon in the Tartan Marketplace. The event is free and open to the public.
