Sinclair Police to Hold All-Day Training in Conjunction with Kettering Police Department

DAYTON, Ohio (08/23/10) – Sinclair will hold safety training for its police department on Wednesday, August 25, in the college’s library. This annual training exercise is held in conjunction with the Montgomery County Sherriff’s Office.

Officers will get first-hand experience dealing three crisis scenarios, including a shooter on campus drill, a hostage negotiation and a biochemical hazard scenario. Media are welcome to cover this annual event.

Please be aware that the Kettering Police Department will be training their SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Units. Several police vehicles, SWAT vans and other official vehicles will be on scene. Meters on Third Street will be bagged in front of Building 7. Any calls from concerned residents should be directed to Natasha Baker, director of public relations at Sinclair.
