Dayton, OH- Sinclair Community College yesterday dedicated its new Hittner Nursing Patient Simulation Lab at a special event. Made possible by a generous donation by Bob and Zoe Hittner, the lab will assist nursing students develop and refine patient care and assessment skills prior to treating patients in a hospital setting.

Sinclair President Steve Johnson welcomed the crowd of nearly 50 administrators, students, faculty and friends of the college and talked about the enhanced instruction that occurs in the Nursing Patient Simulation Lab during his dedication ceremony remarks.

"At Sinclair, we pride ourselves on providing our nursing students with the best clinical and classroom instruction possible," stated Johnson. "The Nursing Patient Simulation Lab is an extension of that focus on quality education that prepares our students to enter the healthcare workforce."

Attendees got a briefing on the capabilities of the human patient simulators in tours of the lab during the event. The Nursing Patient Simulation Lab is located in Building 3 on the downtown Dayton campus.

Bob Hittner is a retired physician and his wife Zoe a retired teacher were strong supporters of the 2003 Changing Lives Campaign and amongst the Sinclair Foundation's Top 100 donors for total lifetime giving. The two also established the Robert and Zoe Hittner Endowment to Assist Nursing Students in May 2007.
