Men’s Basketball Wins on the Road 77-74

Dayton, OH – Sinclair traveled to Lakeland CC on Saturday for an OCCAC match up.

Both teams entered the game 1-2 in conference play and needing a win to even up the conference record.  After the Pride scored the first basket of the game, Sinclair would have to play from behind the rest of the game.

Trailing by 9 at half (23-32), the Pride was able to cut the deficit little by little until the Pride evened up the score with less than 3 minutes to go.  Sinclair finally took the lead with 1:59 left when Mark Allen made 1 of 2 free throws and Blake Davenport knocked down 4 free throws in the last 40 seconds to seal the win 77-74.

Leading the way for the Pride with his 8th Double-Double, Darrien Wilkins (6-5/Cincinnati Princeton H.S.) 16 points and 14 rebounds.   Trent Maddox (6-4/Gallatin Co. H.S. KY) continues to step up with another solid performance of 14 points – 9 rebounds.  Mark Allen (6-4/Cincinnati Northwest H.S.) and Blake Davenport (6-1/Lebanon H.S.) both contributed 13 points and Patrick Crawford (6-01/Centerville H.S.) added 11 points – 5 assists.

Sinclair will host Cincinnati State this Wednesday at 7:30 in the annual WOW (White Out Wednesday) game.  The Wright State Pep band will play for the Men’s game and a number of other activities that will include: half court shots for books, Pizza Party and beer sales for the first time.  WOW activities kick off with the Women’s game at 5:30pm.
