Basketball Wins On the Road in Kentucky

Dayton, OH – Sinclair (6-2/0-0) Men’s Basketball defeated Pikeville College JV Saturday afternoon 90-58.

In the first meeting between the two teams, Sinclair traveled 5 hours down to Eastern Kentucky for a snowy Saturday afternoon matchup.

Maybe it was the feeling out process or maybe it was the 5 hour trip in the snow, but Sinclair struggled to take a 42-36 lead into half.

Coming out after half time, Sinclair found the power source and used its aggressive defense to outscore the home team 48-22.  Pushing the ball in transition, the Pride was able to attack the basket and bring the Bears out of their zone defense that had given the Pride trouble in the first half.

Leading the way for the Pride, Darrien Wilkins (6-5/Cincinnati Princeton H.S.) and Blake Davenport (6-1/Lebanon H.S.) both posting game high 17 point performances.

Sinclair travels to Philadelphia on Wednesday as the Tartan Pride take on the University of Pennsylvania JV’s in the famed Palestra
