2011-12 Men’s Basketball Schedule Announced

Dayton, OH - Sinclair Community College has announced its complete men's basketball schedule. Coming off its 4th consecutive 20 win season, the Pride has put together another competitive 2011-12 schedule.

An early season match up (November 19th) against Region XII powerhouse Mott CC sits just three games into this year's schedule. The Bears finished the 2010-11 season 33-3 and ranked #1 in the final NJCAA Poll and lost in the National Championship game to Lincoln College. The annual matchup brings to the Dayton campus a Mott team loaded with talent that has played in 6 of the last 11 National Championship games.

The Pride is also scheduled to play in the Mott Bruin Club Classic in early December, facing a Henry Ford team that finished 2nd behind Mott in the MCCAA with a record of 21-9. Game two of the classic will be a rematch of a game played a few weeks earlier in Dayton as Sinclair will take on Mott in the final game of the Bruin Classic.

Also coming into Building 8 on the Downtown Dayton Campus in mid November, Miami University-Middletown. MUM finished the 2010-11 season with an impressive 22-5 record and won the ORC State Championship for the third consecutive year.

Another highlight of the non-conference schedule will come early in December as Sinclair travels to Chapel Hill to take on the University of North Carolina JV Tar Heels in the Dean Smith Center on December 10th. The last meeting, UNC knocked off the Pride by 12 to even the series at 1-1.

The OCCAC schedule will once again be full of NJCAA Nationally Ranked teams. During the past four years, the OCCAC has had two teams play for the Division II National Championship: Columbus State CC (2008) & Cincinnati State CC (2010).
