Sinclair Professor to Speak on Ohio's Role in Elections

10/06/2008
Dayton, OH- The Sinclair Englewood Learning Center will feature Sinclair chair of the humanities, governments and modern languages department, John Weaver, as a part of its 2008 Speaker Series. Weaver will present, "Ohio's Role in Past Presidential Elections: Implications for the Current Campaign".

There is every indication that Ohio will again be a key "swing state" in this year's presidential election. Recent elections have turned on the results in a small handful of states, including Ohio. The discussion will look at whether this was always true in the past, or is more of a recent development. The great diversity of Ohio's people, communities, and economy makes our state a fascinating place to observe politics past and present.

The event will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, from 6-7 p.m. at Englewood Learning Center, located at 1150 West National Road in Englewood, Ohio. The event is free and open to the public.
