Men Rebound to Edge Cuyahoga

Dayton, OH –  Sinclair Men’s Tartan Pride basketball team, coming off a Wednesday night loss to Cincinnati State went right back to work in the hopes of improving their Ohio Community College Athletic Conference standing as they took on OCCAC foe Cuyahoga College from Cleveland.

The Tartan Pride would go into halftime holding a slim three point edge, 30-27. The two teams combined for 18 turnovers in the first 20 minutes of play. But The Pride shot 55 percent from the field. 

In the second half, The Pride defense stepped up and the hot shooting continued as The Pride pulled away to win 65-53. Sinclair shot 54 percent from the field for the game and finished the game shooting 77 percent from the free-throw line

Freshmen Darrien Wilkins (Princeton) led all scorers with 17 points and 8 rebounds.  Mark Allen, Freshmen from Northwest High School was 4 for 4 from the field and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line and added 13.

The Tartan Pride move to 16-6 overall and even their OCCAC record at 3-3 and currently 4th in the conference. Sinclair will return to home action on Saturday, February  5 as they take on Owens College in Sinclair’s 2011 Homecoming Game.
