Pride Players Receive OCCAC Honors

Sinclair again has players named for OCCAC Player and Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on April 23, 2012.

Joe Ford of Grove City, Ohio and shortstop of the Tartan Pride helped Sinclair clinch the overall OCCAC Championship with 3 wins during the week against conference rival Lakeland. During the week, Joe was 5 for 11 and scored three runs. Coach Stephen Dintaman said, "Joe played perfect defense all weekend with 15 assists and five putouts at shortstop."

Also earning an award was left-handed pitcher Matt Kruzel, who came in relief during two close games and pitched four shutout innings to allow Sinclair to clinch the conference championship again Lakeland. Coach Dintaman said, "Matt came into the conference clinching game and ended the Lakeland threat in the sixth. On Saturday, he came in relief and tossed three more scoreless innings to earn the win. Matt's pitching in clutch games has allowed us to pull out victories and win big ball games."

Congratulations to both Joe and Matt for their efforts during the year. Join us in wishing the Tartan Pride continued success in post-season play.
