What is "Bioscience Lab Skills "?

The Bioscience Lab Skills certificate will prepare students for internships and some entry level jobs in bioscience laboratories. The students will learn the background of the biotechnology industry, basic lab safety and regulation, and the practical math needed to calculate reagents, dilutions and sample analysis.

Program Outcomes

  • Demonstrate the ability to calculate and prepare biological reagents as well as use and calibrate basic laboratory equipment.
  • Demonstrate proper lab safety and behavior.
  • Describe the basics of the bioscience/biotechnology industry and how it is regulated.

  • MAT 1365 OR MAT 1370
