The Large Animal Sciences Certificate focuses the Agricultural student on the care, maintenance, and reproduction of efficient, highly productive farm animals. This certificate builds on the Large Animal Sciences Short-term Certificate, and also has the potential to provide the student with outside certification in Bovine Artificial Insemination.
The courses offered within this certificate are almost all OTM courses and will be easily transferred to another institution. We hope to interest the University of Findlay in also granting transfer credits for the Large Animal Handling and Husbandry, Large Animal Reproduction, and Large Animal Nutrition classes, as they are designed to mirror classes offered there.
Students entering the program from a Tech Prep affiliated school will be offered a credit for VET 1100, if they have successfully completed an environmental science, agricultural science, veterinary science, or equine science program of study.
There is an outside certificate in Bovine Artificial Insemination that will be offered within the Large Animal Reproduction course.
