College and Career Resource Center (CCRC) / College Resource Center (CRC)

The College and Career Resource Centers (CCRC) / College Resouce Centers (CRC) are Sinclair sponsored classrooms within the High School. The main purpose of the CCRC’s and CRC’s is to provide the tools that help students become academically ready for college and successfully transition them from high school to their post-secondary options. The facilitators work closely with the students, creating an individualized curriculum that will markedly improve the student’s skills in Math, Reading and Writing.

A CCRC class room is one in which the students will have a Sinclair Facilitator on site everyday and will be a part of their daily schedule. In addition the class is worth ½ credits each semester. The CCRC’s will combine the computer based curriculum with in class assignments and activities. The Facilitator will also work with students and introduce them to both Discover ( an online career assessment) and Peterson’s. Through these programs students can research colleges, majors and different careers, as well as take a career assessment that will tell them what fields they may enjoy and excel.

A CRC Class room will have a Facilitator as well, but the class will not be a part of the student’s high school schedule; rather, the CRC is set up as a lab, and students are welcome to drop in or to make an appointment with the facilitator. The CRC classrooms will have the same tools and resources as the CCRCs. However, it is the student’s responsibility to take advantage of the opportunity and assistance offered by the CRC facilitators.
