College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

The College Board offers nationally standardized CLEP exams that may allow learners to earn college credit for knowledge aquired through on-the-job training, professional development, etc. CLEP exams are offered at the Sinclair Miami Valley Research Park location and other sites across the nation.  When you take a CLEP exam, request your scores be sent to Sinclair Community College (code 1720). If you have already taken a CLEP exam and not had your scores sent to Sinclair, contact the College Board for an official transcript. CLEP exams are offered locally at the following locations:

POLICIES:

1. A student must have made application to Sinclair Community College.

2. The course(s) will be recorded on the student’s transcript with a “CL” grade.  There is a processing fee of $10 per course for each course applied to the student's transcript.

3. No more than 30 credit hours may be earned through CLEP, articulated credit, proficiency examination, AP, DSST, ACE credit and applied toward degree requirements.

4. Credits earned via CLEP examinations do not apply toward the college residency requirements.
