Re-Entry Preparation (REP.S.STC)

The Re-entry Preparation Certificate is a one semester certificate that provides students with the minimum tools needed to reintegrate back into society. This certificate will focus on developing entry level computer skills, interpersonal communication, and the creation of a personal portfolio highlighting the education and skills obtained during incarceration.

Prerequisites: Other (Only students at the participating correctional facilities will be permitted to enroll in this certificate. The participating institutions include the following: Pickaway Correctional Institution, Allen Correctional Institution, Dayton Correctional Institution, Ohio Reformatory for Women, and Southeastern Correctional Institution.)

Program Outcomes

  • Demonstrate skills necessary to reintegrate back into society by evaluating it from a personal, social, and occupational perspective.
  • Demonstrate necessary skills to develop, maintain, and terminate if necessary interpersonal relationships.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills needed to reintegrate back into society in order to obtain viable employment.
