Former MLB Pitcher Chris Spurling to Attend Sinclair Baseball Game
Sinclair to Retire Spurling’s Jersey during Game

Former major-league pitcher and former Sinclair baseball player, Chris Spurling, will be honored with the retirement of his Sinclair jersey at Fifth Third Field on Sunday, April 15. The ceremony will take place prior to the 12:30 p.m. game against University of Northwestern Ohio Junior Varsity team. The game is a free event, but visitors must have a ticket to enter. Tickets can be reserved online at Sinclair's baseball website. Gates open at 11:30 a.m.

Spurling graduated from Northridge High School in 1995 and followed by playing for Sinclair. Spurling was drafted out of Sinclair in the 41st round by the New York Yankees in the 1997 amateur draft. He pitched four seasons in the major leagues for the Milwaukee Brewers and Detroit Tigers, including earning an American League Championship ring with the Tigers in 2006. Spurling will hold an autograph session at the end of the second inning.

Sinclair’s baseball team is excited to play their first game on Fifth Third Field. In addition to the game, there will be family-friendly games and inflatables for children to enjoy. The famous Dayton Dragons Green Team will provide live entertainment along with mascots Heater and Gem.
