Chas Harper Hit His 2nd and 3rd Homerun of the Season in Game 2

Game 1
The Sinclair Owens Rivalry was renewed for the second time this season but this time they crossed the border into Michigan. With heavy rain across Ohio and Michigan, the games were played on turf at Adrian College.

The Pride started the scoring off in the 1st on a two out single from Kyle Vander Ark scoring Marcus Heath. The offense kept things rolling in the 3rd, with another two out RBI, this time from Brandon Napier. With Napier on base, Byron Johann launched his 2nd homerun of the season increasing the lead to 4-0. Two more runs were added in the 4th and the lead was now 6-0 heading into the bottom of the inning. Starting pitcher Jeremiah Kerns did a great job keeping the Express bats in check for the first three innings but would run into trouble in the 4th. A leadoff homer and a pair of doubles helped the Express cut the lead in half. Sinclair would add on in the 6th inning and carried a 7-3 lead into the final inning. Kerns started the inning off when a groundout to 3rd, but was pulled after allowing a 0-2 hit to the leadoff hitter. Pride starter Christian McElroy came into the game in a unfamiliar role and struggled with control. The Owens offense took advantage and within a couple of minutes, we had a one run game. Closer Matt Addis entered the game with bases loaded and one out and on a 0-1 pitch, he threw a 4-6-3 double play to end the game.

Final Score: Sinclair 7 Owens 6
WP: Jeremiah Kerns 5-1 SV: Matt Addis (5)

Offensive Leaders: Steve Buglione 2-4 2 2B's 2 RBI's, Marcus Heath 2-4 RBI, Brandon Napier 2-3 2B 2 RBI's.

Game 2
The Pride offense took control of the second game early and starter Austin Pressly was dealing. Sinclair scored in every inning but the first and put up six runs in the 2nd off the Owens starter. Pressly didn't allow a hit until the 5th inning when he was touched up for a leadoff double off the wall. That runner did not score though as Austin set the next three batters down while striking out two.

Final Score: Sinclair 10 Owens 0
WP: Austin Pressly 5-1
Offensive Leaders: Joe Ford 0-0 3 BB's, Marcus Heath 2-4 2 RS, Chas Harper 2-3 2 RS 2 HR's (2, 3) 4 RBI's.

With the sweep, Sinclair improves to 29-12 on the season and is 9-3 in the OCCAC. The Pride will play a four game series this weekend against Lakeland with the OCCAC Title on the line.
