Men's Basketball Knocks off Cuyahoga in Last Home Conference Game 83-77

Dayton, OH – Saturday afternoon the Tartan Pride celebrated Sophomore night as Sinclair said goodbye to 4 Sophomores with an 83-77 victory over Cuyahoga.

Both teams played a back and forth game during the opening half, and both teams took turns at pushing the ball and scoring in transition. Sinclair took a 3 point lead into half as the Pride shot well from the 3 point arc: 57% and only turned the ball over 4 times.

The game continued to be close as again both teams took turns making runs and controlling the tempo. Late in the game with less than 3 minutes to go, the Pride started to put some distance between the visitors from Cleveland and the home Pride. Down the stretch, Sinclair continued to hit key free throws that kept Cuyahoga on the outside looking in.

Leading the way for Sinclair was Charlie Byers (5-11/Cincinnati Moeller H.S.) with 21 points and Freshman Jabriel Coaston (6-05/Cincinnati Roger Bacon H.S.) with a Double/Double 20 Points and 11 Rebounds. Sophomore Deon Banks (6-05/Indianapolis Warren Central H.S.) with 10 points.

Sinclair will play the last home game of the season Monday as West Virginia University-Parkersburg comes to town for a 5:30pm tip. All home games are played in Building 8 on the Downtown Dayton campus.
